Backhouses at the Hoxne Union Workhouse, Stradbroke in 1841 an 1851

I descend from James Backhouse who was born in 1840 in Stradbroke and at the age of 1 is on the 1841 census in Hoxne Union Workhouse with a 20 year old pauper,Ann Backhouse who i can only presume is his unmarried mother. On the 1851 census he is still in Hoxne and a pauper (so probably still in the Hoxne Union Workhouse) but there is no trace of Ann who has presumably passed away in between.
My question is, is there anyway anyone can suggest that I might be able to find out any more about them, in particular where Ann came from in the first place? I will be ordering the birth certificate soon but that'll probably only confirm the mother and possibly the workhouse as the location. I don't suppose there would be a graveyard for a workhouse would there? Does the name Backhouse seem familiar to any else?
