Stradbroke Parish
The parish of Stradbroke is one of 122 Parishes and Towns making up the Mid Suffolk District. This in turn is one of the six District Councils which are covered by the Suffolk County Council.

The Parish Council looks after the local needs of the area (which includes the outlying hamlets) and Parish Councillors are elected every four years.

Stradbroke covers an area of around 3800 acres and has a population of approximately 1250. There are over 600 dwellings in the Parish some 400 of which are in the village itself. Every 4 years, 13 councillors are elected to the Parish Council. Only in the event of more than 13 people standing for election is an election actually required to be held.
