"Hi, thanks for the info. I've not been able to find a maiden name for Sophia so that's really useful. Are they related to you? Jo"

"Hi Ann Thanks again. Ahhh, so it all kind of fits together then doesn't it. Judith Hurren's mother was a Borrett and Samuel Hurren is living next door to Borrett's. Hopefully they were linked in some way. It's a starting point…"

"Hi Ann, It must be quite tricky researching links in America and Ireland! I guess I'm quite lucky that the majority of my ancestors seem to be from Suffolk and I'm only in Ipswich. My mother's side (lots of Mayhew's)  was…"

"Hi Ann Thanks for those. My 5x great grandparents Robert & Susannah Boast lived at Doggett's.  I always think the cottage is quite sweet if a bit ugly!  I guess Fred Boast must be related somehow but my last Boast is Judith who…"

"Hi Wow, that's really interesting. Thanks. Not only a Jonathan Saunders but also a John Hurren. I have a John Hurren and a Samuel Hurren in my tree. Several of my lines come from Stradbroke including the rather prolific Boast family!  My…"

"Hi, yes I'm in Ipswich. Hadn't thought of going to the library so that's a useful suggestion. Going back to your previous post, I hadn't got as far as 1891 so it's interesting to see that Marianne eventually goes to…"

"Hi again, Thanks for your reply. I think I've seen the Bush connection somewhere else and that does all seem to fit together. What remains a mystery is Samuel Saunders, Margaretta's father.  What I queried with the genealogist was…"

"Hi Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. It's interesting that there are lots of Saunders in Stradbroke but none in the churchyard!! I don't know about Margaretta Crickmore as that's not a name that crops up in the family…"

Saunders family

Hi, Can anyone help me please? I'm researching the Saunders family from Stradbroke as part of my family tree and am having some difficulties. I have a Margaret Saunders born in 1841. Sometimes, she's referred to as Margaretta or Margarette. She married Abraham Ward. From the marriage certificate, her father's name was Samuel Saunders but the problem is this: the 1841 census shows her at 2 months old, living with her unmarried mother Marianne Saunders. It seems, that as Marianne has Saunders as…See More

Thanks for the Friend Request Jo.

In fact we have been in contact before - when we were both in contact with Doreen Berry about ten years ago and maybe you have had contact with Ann Chown too who has been very helpful in tracing the Boast Line back to the 1600s.  I think you were busy with your music at the time, so we never actually sorted out your branch descendants properly to the present day...  and I had no email for you, so we could not keep in touch and let you know, as we added the ancestors to our line
I have a photograph & bio of you in my Family Tree Photo Album here:
ARTISTS, Craftsmen, Poets, Writers, Musicians (Video)

However, I have no Tree Information to link you and your parents to Susan Boast nee Shimmon who is also my 4x great grandmother... so I have added your photo on our Tree under the name of JUDITH BOAST... who married Samuel Heron or Hurring and I have found 7 Children for them... that is as far as that branch decends on my Tree at the moment... so it would be great if we could fill in the branches between you and them to the present day if possible.

 Death:   Unknown,

So it would be wonderful if you could help me add your Line to my Tree which is at Website: http://p0tter.tribalpages.com

Just send a request to visit when you get to the website and I will authorise an official email to be generated from Tribal Pages which will enable you to set up a password and have access to my tree... which goes back a lot further than  Susan Boast nee Shimmon to Our GREAT X7 GRANDPARENTS !

Wingfield Parish Christenings
JOHN & MARY BOST

named as parents of a son, William
Father: John BOST
Mother: Mary
Son, William BOST christened 28th October 1677 at Wingfield, Suffolk.

It is under 3 miles to walk from Wingfield to Stradbroke.

So I hope to link up with you soon by email so that I can put you in contact with others on this line - my email address is lindamayrumble:@gmail.com
Sadly I am not in the best of health (COPD Stage 3), so I have flare ups with my breathing the prevent me from sitting at the computer... but I would love to fit more pieces onto the Boast puzzle after all this time.

I think you will find the tree very interesting as I have many photographs.
Of course I have added all the Dogget ones as our family lived there too and I expect there will be  many more images of interest to you. :)

I hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience and hopefully Ann, Doreen, You and I can make some progress to share with all our family over the Christmas & New Year season.  :)

Kindest regards.

Sorry Jo
I need to clarify that our Link is via my 5X Great grandparents - who I think are your 6X Grandparents...
William Boast = Martha Hinds who are the parents of Robert Boast who married Judith Borratt - parents of your ancestor (maybe) Judith Boast who married Samuel Hurren!

I am about to authorise your access to the tree... I just saw your request!

How exciting!

Kindest regards
Linda
