John Maslin said… Hello Krisha, have only just joined this group but have some information on the Borrett family from 1647 to present day!
Michael John Veitch said… G'day Krisha,
My more immediate Borretts came from Laxfield via my gg grandmother Mary Anne Borrett, but I believe (not yet proven) that they originally came from Stradbroke. Hence my interest in the Stradbroke website. I have the Laxfield Borretts back to the early 1700s after buying the Parish registers from the Suffolk Registry Office.
I would be very interested in sharing knowledge information with you. Would also be interested in the information John Maslin and the others with Borrett interest have. John has put a comment on your wall.
I live in Australia and visited Suffolk for a month last year. Had a great time. My email address is veitchmj@gmail.com.
Hope to hear from you.

Douglas Campbell said… Thanks for your message Krisha. I am very pleased to hear from a Borrett because I have had difficulty sorting them out in relation to the Girlings. I take it that you will have seen the transcriptions of the Borrett memorials on the ledger slabs in the north aisle of Stradroke Church that I posted on the Girling discussion. Perhaps we can exchange information.
On my Girling family tree Alice Borrett bap. 23 Oct 1544 at Wilby, Suffolk married Roger Grenling (or Grinlinge) there on 28 Sep 1561. Roger was of Stradbroke and born about 1535. These were the grandparents of Anthony Grenling who was the first husband of Frances Sandcroft. John Gyrlyng of Fressingfield who died 04 Oct 1487 was Anthony's 4x Gt Grandfather.
I hope that you enjoy your visit to the village and I hope to hear from you.
Regards,
Douglas Campbell
