Hi Linda! Welcome to the new Stradbroke Website!

A really nice feature of this new website is that you can customise your own information page! When you 'sign in' you might notice the menu at the top of the page changes and a new item called 'My Page' appears. This is what it says - a page for you!
You can change the 'theme' (colours and patterns) for your page very easily (look at the menu on the left) - and most importantly - put up a 'photo' to replace the village sign silhouette that comes up by default! It'd be great to see a photo, but some people prefer to use a cartoon, or a picture of something that represents their interests.

Your 'My Page' is good place to put a little information about yourself - eg your family history research interests so other members can see it, and maybe share info with you! This is also the page where you can share photographs too - it would be lovely to see pictures of the village for example, old or new! Or do you have photos of Doggetts to share?

Have a play with it and have a look at what others have done with their 'My Page' by clicking on 'Members' in the menu!

Most of all though, 'Welcome' we're pleased you've joined and hope you find the site enjoyable.

Hi Linda May,

If your web-site can help me to discover more about my grandfathers family who lived at Doggers in Stradbroke then I would like to explore it. He was Stephen George Boast and  had three sons, Stephen ( known as Ven) James (Jim) my father John (Jack). He worked for a time for the  Great Western Railway and moved down to Wales, married my grandmother, and ran a grocer's, Vardre Stores, for many years in the Swansea Valley.  Best wishes, Catherine
