"I hope everyone had a great time at the celebrations. I couldn't make it unfortunately. I really enjoyed my time at the school even if Mr Thorpe scared me. Mind you he was a different man when I played with his daughters in his house .…"
"Lets hope the people who move in don't have lots of children only 22 spaces at the High School I see in todays press. I guess get enough houses I may be able to visit the village without having to rely on relatives, friends and taxis to get to…"
"I also remember when Stradbroke had all the shops mentioned but at the time very few people had cars and very few people worked outside the village. A day in Ipswich or Norwich was an outing not a regular happening. I imagine things are a…"
"As I do not live in the village I do not feel I can go to the council planning site. I would say here we have a East of England Coop with off road parking available but still customers park on the road on double yellows and in a bus stop. Can I…"
"The photo of the Chocolate Box brought back memories. I lived in the prefabs on Shelton Hill and my Mum would take me for a walk round Neaves Lane and round back into the village and if I was good we would stop at the Chocolate Box."
"I am pleased to hear this. I had thought the village had been forgotten by public transport as I used to be able to get to the village from Diss station now I have to rely on friends, relations and taxis."
"Whilst no longer a resident of Stradbroke ( didn't want to spend 3hrs each day travelling to work) I think I must point out that Mulbarton, Taverham, Cringleford, Hethersett, Long Stratton and Framlingham Earl are dormitories for Norwich. They…"
"Well that will probably be another 90 cars on the roads round the village if it gets approval as I doubt there is public transport to Diss for the trains or direct public transport links to Ipswich or Norwich. People will want work and further…"
A really nice feature of this new website is that you can customise your own information page! When you 'sign in' you might notice the menu at the top of the page changes and a new item called 'My Page' appears. This is what it says - a page for you!
You can change the 'theme' (colours and patterns) for your page very easily (look at the menu on the left) - and most importantly - put up a 'photo' to replace the village sign silhouette that comes up by default! It'd be great to see a photo, but some people prefer to use a cartoon, or a picture of something that represents their interests.
Your 'My Page' is good place to put a little information about yourself - eg your village interests so other members can see it, and maybe share info with you! This is also the page where you can share photographs too - it would be lovely to see pictures of the village for example, old or new!
Have a play with it and have a look at what others have done with their 'My Page' by clicking on 'Members' in the menu!
Most of all though, 'Welcome' we're pleased you've joined and hope you find the site enjoyable.
