Mid Suffolk have launched a consultation about the revised Grove Farm proposal. The changes in this proposal are:

  • The size of the site has reduced, the end hedge and ditch is now the boundary (retained)
  • The number of dwellings reduced from 54 to 44
  • The reduced number of dwellings are all "affordable housing" now reduced to 17 houses (from 27)

The new plan is shown below, click the image for a high resolution view:

Stradbroke Monthly Editors and Parish Council agree to form independent governance board

Posted on July 14, 2015 at 1:30 0 Comments

Stradbroke Parish Council unanimously backed a plan last night agreed with the Stradbroke Monthly editors to form an independent governance board to oversee the Stradbroke Monthly. The new Board will comprise representatives of the Editors and the Parish Council as well as independent members. You can see the agreement below:

The agreement follows months of arguments that have come to dominate Parish Council meetings. Councillors agreed to the proposal following a brief discussion. The proposal was presented by Elly Wharton who together with Maureen John and Gerald Jenkins worked with the editors to thrash out an agreement over the last month.

A collective sigh of relief could be heard across Stradbroke last night and there appears to be genuine willingness on all sides to make a success of the proposal.

We will have an audio recording of the…

Thank you for your welcome comment... did you see the twelve photographs and text I added when I first saw the page change? I have not got any more, other than ones provided by other members which are on my website... I thought I would let them add their own images to their new pages.
I have not yet visited Stradbroke, but hope to come along to one of your future Beer Festivals, as my husband Al & I are members of CAMRA.
By the way, I put in some on line requests for music which I have not yet paid for... last time I received an email after the event with details of how I could pay by Bank Transfer... perhaps Marty will read this and it will remind him to email the bill to me.
Looking forward to meeting more 'cousins' on your website - I think it is uniquely fabulous!

Hallo Webmaster, Estelle Sosa left a comment on my profile . How do I access this(her comment). I can't seem to find my way round on here.
I have ancestors going back to the 1500's in Stradbroke... hence my interest in the village.

Many thanks for your reply regarding our property search. We use Rightmove and many other property search engines, but thought 'word of mouth' might help and perhaps save on estate agents fees!! ~Thank you again and very impressed with your web site.
