Spar will not re-open after all

Posted on July 23, 2014 at 13:36 27 Comments

Disappointing news broke today that the Spar Shop will not after all be re-opening soon. This follows the dramatic revelations at the last Parish Council meeting on 14th July by Roger Turkington that a small group of people also including Council Vice-Chairman Oliver Last and former parish Councillor Don Darling had…

Will you stand for the Parish Council?

Posted on July 6, 2014 at 19:00 0 Comments

There is currently a "casual vacancy" for a Parish Councillor. If you are interested in being considered please contact Carol Smy, clerk to the Council clerkspc@thesmys.com or phone 01379 384679. Currently only three of the twelve councillors are women who are significantly under represented on the Council.

"Hello Julia, I think the villagers are just feeling a little disappointed that we still do not have a shop, and as for the 'rumours' well, these only evolve as we are not given the honest facts. However, I do now feel that due to people…"

Thank you for your welcome comment... did you see the twelve photographs and text I added when I first saw the page change? I have not got any more, other than ones provided by other members which are on my website... I thought I would let them add their own images to their new pages.
I have not yet visited Stradbroke, but hope to come along to one of your future Beer Festivals, as my husband Al & I are members of CAMRA.
By the way, I put in some on line requests for music which I have not yet paid for... last time I received an email after the event with details of how I could pay by Bank Transfer... perhaps Marty will read this and it will remind him to email the bill to me.
Looking forward to meeting more 'cousins' on your website - I think it is uniquely fabulous!

Hallo Webmaster, Estelle Sosa left a comment on my profile . How do I access this(her comment). I can't seem to find my way round on here.
I have ancestors going back to the 1500's in Stradbroke... hence my interest in the village.

Many thanks for your reply regarding our property search. We use Rightmove and many other property search engines, but thought 'word of mouth' might help and perhaps save on estate agents fees!! ~Thank you again and very impressed with your web site.
