Stradbroke High School is celebrating record GCSE results today with 72% of pupils achieving 5 A-C Grades including both English and Maths. Headteacher Andrew Bloom told the EDP:

Stradbroke Parish Council are pleased to announce the appointment of Odile Wladon (pronounced Vladon) to be our clerk starting 1st September 2015.
Odile lives in Wickham Skeith working with her husband. They have 4 children. Although this is Odile's first position as a clerk of a parish council, she has a lot of relevant experience which includes carrying out necessary administration for a business, book keeping, PA to a Main Board Director at Laura Ashley, including minuting Board meetings, a school governor for 15 years (8 as Chair), and much more. Odile has shown to be very proactive and organised in many areas and has the full confidence from all councillors who have met her.

Good news for just over half of Stradbroke today as BT and other providers began to accept orders for "superfast" broadband. Sometimes know as fibre broadband or FTTC this should give speeds up to 76MBps. Orders placed today seem to be given an activation date at the end of August.
You can check online to see of you can get superfast broadband.
We still do not know the date the rest of the village will get faster broadband although once people start to migrate to the "superfast" service in enabled areas the existing broadband should at least see speed increases...
