Co-op plans "withdrawn by applicant"

Posted on March 10, 2015 at 16:13 0 Comments

The plans to build a new co-operative store have been withdrawn by the East of England co-operative Society according to Mid Suffolk District Council.

The proposals met with widespread public concern due to road safety concerns and the proximity to Stradbroke Primary School.

Suffolk County Council highways had recommended refusal of the application and Stradbroke Parish Council also voted to recommend refusal.

It is understood that Mid Suffolk District Council were likely to refuse the application.

Traffic Survey begins outside Primary School

Posted on March 1, 2015 at 14:22 0 Comments

Suffolk County Council Highways are conducting a traffic survey on the B1118 at Queens Street just outside the Primary School spanning the proposed location of the co-op store. The survey will take place for a week and will measure the quantity, weight and speed of traffic. Information from the survey will be provided to the Parish Council and we will publish anything we can on this site.

Grove Farm Planning Application vanishes from Mid Suffolk's website

Posted on February 27, 2015 at 10:14 0 Comments

Yesterday the Grove Farm planning application for 52 houses disappeared from Mid Suffolk District Council's planning website.

After inquiries to the Planning Office it transpires that only the listed building consent for the barns was supposed to have been released at this stage. The rest of the details appeared due to an administrative error at Mid Suffolk who now say:

In respect of the creation of 54 dwellings, this application will be valid I suspect in the next couple of months and will be the subject of formal consultation at that time.

If you want to comment on the whole Grove Farm development then please watch this site for more information! Any comments you might have sent to Mid Suffolk will need to be sent again when the consultation for the houses begins!

Could you be a Parish Councillor?

"All thirteen seats on Stradbroke Parish Council are up for re-election on Thursday 7th May 2015 in a contest that looks set to be much more interesting than the General Election to be held on the same day! Unlike most years it seems…"

Thank you for your welcome comment... did you see the twelve photographs and text I added when I first saw the page change? I have not got any more, other than ones provided by other members which are on my website... I thought I would let them add their own images to their new pages.
I have not yet visited Stradbroke, but hope to come along to one of your future Beer Festivals, as my husband Al & I are members of CAMRA.
By the way, I put in some on line requests for music which I have not yet paid for... last time I received an email after the event with details of how I could pay by Bank Transfer... perhaps Marty will read this and it will remind him to email the bill to me.
Looking forward to meeting more 'cousins' on your website - I think it is uniquely fabulous!

Hallo Webmaster, Estelle Sosa left a comment on my profile . How do I access this(her comment). I can't seem to find my way round on here.
I have ancestors going back to the 1500's in Stradbroke... hence my interest in the village.

Many thanks for your reply regarding our property search. We use Rightmove and many other property search engines, but thought 'word of mouth' might help and perhaps save on estate agents fees!! ~Thank you again and very impressed with your web site.
