Stradbroke SAS team win Inter-Village Games!



Following a week of pre-events including clay pigeon shooting, treasure hunt, quiz, carpet bowls, darts, pool, cribbage, rounders and football the Stradbroke All-Stars (SAS) team put in an outstanding performance in the Inter-Village sports final day events and managed to wow the competition and WIN!!

Stradbroke Games Results

As promised it was a fantastic afternoon of fun and sport for all. Spectators and competitors alike basked in glorious sunshine to enjoy our first games event and help us pick our Stradbroke-All-Stars for the upcoming Inter-Village Games event in Metfield. The green at Westhall proved to be an ideal sized location for this very traditionally styled event full of charm, community spirit and a very late arriving ice cream van!

"Two more Punch pubs go to local operators

East Anglia Pub Company and local couple snap up disposals



Punch has sold landmark former Spirit Group pub the Peterboat, which overlooks the Thames Estuary in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, in a multi-million pound deal.



The East Anglia Pub Company bought the pub for an undisclosed sum. Fleurets acted on behalf of the vendor.

Sun shone on Stradbroke Village Games Event!

Our Stradbroke Village Games event took place, one week later than originally planned on Sunday 14th June. Westhall Green was mainly bathed in Sunshine as the competitors from all age groups joined in the fun and games.

Guy McGregor continues as County Councillor for Stradbroke after yesterday's County Council elections.

Solar lights stolen in Westhall - From the Diss Express

Published Date: 02 June 2009

Police are appealing for information after solar lights were stolen from a house in north Suffolk.



According to police, the lights were stolen from the property in Westhall, Stradbroke, at about 1am by a man wearing a dark hooded top, who ran to a waiting brown car when he was disturbed.



The car was driven towards High Street by a person wearing a white hooded top.
