Stradbroke pays tribute to James Grigg

The funeral took place today in Stradbroke for James Grigg, killed on 16 March in action in Afghanistan. The church was packed with family, friends, colleagues from the Vikings and members of the Cricket Club. The service with full military honours included a tribute from Cricket Club Chairman Michael Hugman, a poem written and read by Richard Pierce Saunderson and tributes from James's friends Mark Smith and Robert Varella.

Father Ken Reeve gave the address and the whole service was relayed to hundreds more people outside who could not get into the Church. The Royal British Legion and more well wishers lined the streets as the cortege departed for a private committal at Stradbroke Cemetery.
