The application for an increase in the number of chicken sheds at Fennings Farm went before the Planning Committee of MSDC on 14 April 2010 and planning permission was refused.An entry to the competition would be submitted by the due date. Mike Readman was thanked undertaking the task of bringing all the information together for a very professional submission.
NEWS ITEMSHousing
A meeting was to be held between the Affordable Housing Working Party and representatives of other linked bodies to discuss the way forward now the survey had been analysed demonstrating a requirement for affordable housing in the village.Police
PCSO Gemma Hamilton reported that there had been only two incidents in the past month which were both related to a domestic situation.Graffiti
Unpleasant text had been scrawled on the play equipment at Westhall. This would be removed.Churchyard Path
A contractor had been engaged to undertake the resurfacing of the path in the churchyard.Cemetery
The possible removal of the anthills in the cemetery was on the agenda for the year ahead. Quotations for the work will be invited in due course.Community Centre Car Park
Potholes had been repaired and the surface marked out with parking bays. It was hoped this would make parking easier and clearer.Stradbroke Pool
The presentation at the Annual Parish Meeting was very informative and the Parish Council wholeheartedly supports the proposal for a gym facility at the Pool. Mid Suffolk DistrictCouncil is also keen that the project should proceed. Planning permission is awaited. This will be a marvellous facility for the village and is keenly anticipated.
