Could I request you play a REAL Golden Oldie (White Christmas or the like), on Christmas day for the Stradbroke people who can go back to before WWII, Say the 30’s? They will remember a pretty girl called Nancy Mayhew, her Brother Arthur and sister Edner. Some may even remember their Mother Annie; she was the village Midwife and brought most of your Grand or Great Grandparents into this World!
They may also remember Bill Barber (Didler) and his missing fingers, driving a horse and cart from pub to pub, he eventually married Winifred Barber, our friend and yet another professional Midwife from the outskirts of London. They lived on the edge of the village. Nancy is my Mother, Winifred my Midwife, we lived in Barkingside.
They are all gone now, but not forgotten, love never dies. Say a few words for Absent Friends and Loved ones, we all have a few, but these ones are very special to me.
Kindest Regards and Seasons Greetings (to the Ghosts of Christmas past, and now)

Thanks in advance, I hope you can fit some of this in, it will help people; remember.
Do you know of anyone doing research on the Burgess family of Wilby/ Stradbroke. I am interested in the ancestors of Robert Burgess b 1758 Wilby d. 1844 Stradbroke. He was illegitimate, his mother being Elizabeth Burgess bap Wilby 1731 (also illegitimate) daur of Eunice. Am particularly keen on finding out who Eunice was and where she came from. I'm happy to share what I know of Robert's descendents - particularly my husband's branch who moved to Littlebury, Essex and thence to South London.
Hi, as a new member I was wondering if anyone is looking at the Cockerell family of Stradbroke, also the Jennings family. I am the Great great Grandaughter of Eliza Cockerell 1808-1870 who married William Jennings. Eliza was the daughter of Thomas Cracknell Cockerell and Charlotte Brightley. Thomas 1772-1830 the son of Robert Cockerell b. 1740 and Ann Barker. Any help much appreciated. Lizzy from Cornwall
Hi, I'm visiting Stradbroke tomorrow (11.5.2013) with my parents to see what we can discover about the Borrett family. Can you recommend any places we should look? Definitely going to visit the Church.
Very excited!
